| The
nursery is privately owned by Carolann Grewcock and is idyllically
situated in the grounds of the Father Hudson's complex in Coleshill
Warwickshire. It is close to both the M6 (north and south) and
the M42. At the end of March 1993, after extensive renovations to parts
of the building the nursery opened for business with just six
children and three members of staff.
Our mission statement has always been "striving for excellence
in childcare and education".
 |
During the first year the nursery was advertised locally, but
the majority of clients came from recommendations, from parents
and other professionals who knew of the excellent standard of
care offered to all children. The demand for places soon grew.
By the middle of 1993 plans were already in progress to renovate
further rooms in the building to accommodate more children throughout.
The nursery standards are very high. Not only do we take pride
in the excellent pastoral care given to all our children, but
the standard of pre school education too. |
Phase
II "renovating the upper level" was started in late
1993 to satisfy the growing need for more nursery places. Early
in 1994 the baby unit was moved upstairs and the toddlers had
the use of the ground floor. The nursery was now registered
to care for 54 children.
More children, more staff, more training!
From 1994 to the present day, the nursery building has undergone
more renovations to satisfy parents need for quality of care
provided by teddy 'n' daisy's. The current registration is for
88 children with 29 staff.
teddy
'n' daisy's day nursery gained the "Investors in People"
standard in September 1998 from Coventry and Warwickshire Training
and Enterprise Council, and was the first day nursery to achieve
this high standard. This was in recognition of the level of
training that the Carolann has always given to her staff since
the beginning of the business.
The
future of teddy 'n' daisy's relies on the continuous high level
of quality childcare and commitment of its owner Carolann and
her team.
Carolann
says: "as an employer, I consider it important to identify
the training needs of my employees and I take action to provide
appropriate in-house and external training. This way, teddy
'n' daisy's maintains its position as market leader in the provision
of day care for children and pre school education, and also
gives parents peace of mind that their children are being cared
for by a professional team."
